CARING FOR CARMEL
Hi there, I'm Dr. Anita Joshi!
I'm not a politician, I'm an ordinary citizen who wants to roll up her sleeves and make Carmel the best place to live, work, and play for all of us. I am the City Councilor for Carmel's West District, the place I've called home with my family for the past 18 years. As a pediatrician who's run her own practice for 25 years and a proven community leader, I'm passionate about giving back to the community and making a positive impact. I believe that sustainable and innovative growth is key to ensuring the success and prosperity of our city. That's why I'm proud to represent the diverse voices of our community and to put the needs of Carmel residents first. I'm eager to bring my experience, passion, and dedication to this role and work toward a brighter future for all of us.
My Priorities
Carmel isn't a corporation, it's a community. We need to make sure that the city and the West District remains a place where all residents can live, work, and play, but also keep its small-town culture thriving. Here's how we do that:
Safer
We'll ensure that the West District retains its charm. We need more connectivity between neighborhoods with dedicated spaces for our children to play safely.
We will support our first responders and help our growing and diverse community better engage with one another.
Smarter
We want to encourage investment, inspire our community's entrepreneurs, and bring cutting edge technologies to Carmel to improve connectivity and accessibility.
We need to do that in a climate of transparency and collaboration with the community.
More Sustainable
We must dedicate and maintain our beautiful parks and green spaces while investing in sustainable, cost-effective green energy solutions. We will advocate a data based 50 year plan to ensure our children have safe air, soil and water.
